Eldon Pierre Bailey

November 11, 1939 — March 7, 2025

Eldon Pierre Bailey, age 85, of Riverdale, Utah, passed away at his home on March 7, 2025. Born on November 11, 1939, in Great Falls, Montana, Eldon was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a dedicated member of the Blackfeet Indian Nation. He was a passionate businessman, an avid outdoorsman, and a man with a heart full of generosity, always ready to help anyone in need. His infectious sense of humor and kind nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Eldon is survived by his loving wife, Paciencia (Cita); his sisters, Cleo Raymond and Judy Bodenstedt; his children: daughters Rochelle, Roberta, and sons Troy, Leon, and Eldon S.; stepchildren Ryan and Catherine; as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Sarah J. Sevy Bailey; his father, Eldon R. Bailey; his mother, Marie Pierre Bailey; his sisters Anne Marie Delgado and Pam Bowman; and his brother, Leo Bailey.

Eldon was known for his entrepreneurial spirit and owned several businesses throughout the Ogden, Utah area. One of his most beloved ventures was a bait and tackle business that was inspired by his lifelong passion for fishing, a pastime he cherished dearly. In addition to his fishing business, he also owned and operated an indoor swap meet and liquidation store on 28th and Washington Blvd in Ogden for many years.

Eldon’s life was marked by both love and loss. He married his first wife, Donna, when they were very young and together, they had two daughters, Rochelle and Roberta. After their divorce, Eldon married Sarah J. Sevy on January 13, 1965. Sarah had a son, Howard Troy, from a previous marriage, and together they had four children: two daughters who passed away shortly after birth and two sons, Leon Vernon and Eldon Sevy. Sarah passed away in 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer after 39 years of marriage. In 2007, Eldon found love again with Paciencia (Cita) Stoehr, who was a devoted and loving companion. Cita stood by Eldon’s side through numerous health challenges, offering him unwavering support until the end, for which his family will forever be grateful.

In accordance with Eldon’s wishes, there will be no viewing. A casual gathering of family and friends will take place on April 3, 2025, at Aaron’s Mortuary, 1050 State St, Clearfield, UT 84015, at 5:00 p.m. This gathering will be a time to celebrate Eldon’s life, share stories, and say goodbye to a man who overcame many challenges and still found ways to make others smile.

Eldon’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, donations to assist Cita with expenses would be greatly appreciated. Donations may be made at any America First Credit Union branch in the name of Paciencia Bailey or by using the following information:
