Ellery Wybrow, 86, Ogden, October 13, 1930 – January 5, 2017
Born in Seattle to Vern Wybrow and Leolia Nebeker, Ellery dedicated his life to serving others, through church callings like Bishopric, High Council, Gospel Doctrine teacher or selling a car, shoe or wedding ring. Everyone who crossed his path felt his love and was a better person for knowing him.
He loved competition, relishing opportunities to help opponents grow mentally. He patiently taught friends and family golfing, bowling, pool, and lagging quarters.
He was the essence of reaching the “one”, inspiring the best in people through unconditional love. Besides the Sabbath Day, Thursday was his favorite because his pool boys came to play. In addition to his three sons, Ellery was a father-figure to his 46 pool sons, 33 of whom served missions due in part to his overwhelming influence. He will forever call them his sons.
He loved the Gospel, immersing himself in the scriptures. Gospel Doctrine was his favorite calling, one he often volunteered to fill. He was a masterful teacher and example of a Christ-like life.
He was preceded in death by parents and sister Maravene Baird. He is survived by his wife: Doris Lunt Wybrow. Children: Tag (Connie) Wybrow, Matt (Kathy) Wybrow, Kim Wybrow, Jeanne (Keith) Davis. Step-Children: Kerry (Robyn) Lunt, Jeff (Christina) Lunt, Tammi (Dave) Iba, Darren (Janae) Lunt, Ryan (Tawnia) Lunt. Siblings: Renee Darby, Dick (Bev) Warren, Floyd (Sandy) Warren, Vicky (Doug) Sargent Lynne (Sid) Tracy. 33 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
