Emily Sue (Stevenson) Ellis was born on December 9, 1979, to Sharen Lee (Visser) Stevenson and Don Allen Stevenson. Her greatest joy is being mother to three amazing children, Aubrie (Kelton), Austin, and Rebecca, and a Loli (grandma) to her pride and joy Lilith. Our mother passed away August 31, 2024, surrounded by many loved ones, after a long battle with cancer.
Emily was born and raised in Ogden, Utah with her 5 siblings, where their childhood was full of many adventures. Emily enjoyed being outside for camping, playing in a lake, river, or any small body of water. She loved the ocean despite her overwhelming fear of being eaten by sharks. She loved spending time with her family, especially her kids and granddaughter. She enjoyed reading historical romance novels and watching British TV shows.
Emily was always seen with a smile regardless of the situation. Even in the face of her terminal diagnoses she remained optimistic and fought with everything she had. She was always singing, dancing or laughing. She was everything pure and genuine. Like Mary Poppins, she was practically perfect in every way. When she left, she took a piece of all of us with her.
Emily had an incredible ability to make everyone smile and laugh during tense situations. She was the proverbial “Sunshine on a cloudy day". No one could resist being happy when she was around. She had a childlike innocence that you couldn’t help but smile.
Emily will be extremely missed especially by her children and her sweet baby girl, Lily. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Sharen Stevenson; brother, Gary Stevenson; sister, Rebecca Stevenson; grandparents, John and Viola Visser and Dale and Myrtle Stevenson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Emily is survived by her beloved children: Aubrie (Kelton) Nelson and granddaughter, Lilith, Austin Ellis, and Rebecca Ellis; siblings: Robert Stevenson, Amyjo Prince (Leland Forsgren), Erica (Kevin) Specht, Kristopher (Jenna) Stevenson, Kody (Sara) Stevenson, Alyssa (Luis) Mendevil, Cooper Stevenson, and Alyssa (Luis) Mendevil; mother, Nancy Abel; sisters: Amber Alger, Rachel (Todd) Keisel, Candice (Jaun) Gutierrez, and Danielle Alger; 17 nieces; 19 nephews; 9 great nieces; 5 great nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the Brigham City 8th Ward, 139 East 300 North, Brigham City, Utah, 84302.
