Emma E. Magagna died on November 10, 2022, in Ogden, Utah. She was born on August 5, 1925, in
Ogden, Utah, to August and Mary R. Colleni. She married Leslie C. Magagna on February 12, 1949, in St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church.
The family moved to West Weber in 1930, where she learned the value of hard work on the farm. She
graduated from Weber High School , where she enjoyed playing the trumpet in the band and orchestra.
She especially enjoyed marching in parades.
Emma worked in various Ogden businesses, and her last place of employment was at Continental
Bakery, where she was a supervisor of cake production.
She was active in all St. Joseph organizations. She chaired numerous fund-raisers and funeral luncheons,
where she often contributed her famous potato salad. She enjoyed assisting Sister Danielle at the
Retreat House in Ogden and had been an officer several times on the Council of Catholic Women
League, where she was chosen Woman of the Year in 2005.
She enjoyed trips to Wendover, bowling, bingo, cards, and fishing. She was telling jokes, doing
crossword puzzles, and winning at Scrabble until the very end.
Emma is survived by her children, Steven (Maureen), and David, along with grandchildren: Theresa
(Jason) Kunzler, Angela Lupcho, and Michael (Elisa) Magagna; great-grandchildren: Alexander, Lillian,
Baylen, Kason, Adelyn, Ruby, Sky, Trey, and Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by her husband Leslie, her parents, her sister Alma, and brother August.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 - 24 th St.
Ogden, Utah, at 10 am, followed by interment at Ogden City Cemetery.
