Enid LaReta Olsen Hunsaker of Riverdale passed away peacefully Monday, Aug 21,2017 at Legacy House of Ogden. She was born Oct. 3, 1926, to Ethan Floyd and Reta Leavitt Wyatt Olsen in Logan, Utah. She was the oldest of five children and was raised on a dairy farm. She graduated from South Cache High School in 1944.married Thomas Earl Hunsaker on Sept. 26, 1946.
Enid worked at the Jensen Candy Factory in Logan prior to marrying; in Ogden at the Del Monte plant and Defense Depot Ogden. When the children were older she worked at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1987.
She and her husband were active members of the Washington Terrace LDS 7th Ward. From 1989 to 1991, she and her husband served in the Tennessee Nashville LDS Mission. They enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking and just being with family.
She considered being a mother and wife to be her greatest work, raising seven children.
Surviving are her children and their spouses: T. Wayne and Linda Hunsaker, Syracuse; Floyd and Sharon Hunsaker, Oakland, OR; Michael and Teresa Hunsaker, South Ogden; Kaye (dec.and Lex Larson, Ogden; Linda and Kerry Patterson, Salmon, ID; Patricia and Steve Wells, Farmington, NM; Rebecca and Jeffrey Stimpson, Riverdale; 30 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Delores Maughan, Avon; Laura Lee Davis, Sedalia, CO; and Alma Olsen, Sedalia, CO.
Preceding her in death were her sister, Shirley Hansen; daughter, Kaye Larson; twin grandsons, Jason and Jared Hunsaker; and grandson, Sean W. Patterson.
The family would like to thank the staff at Legacy House of Ogden and Inspiration Hospice for their gentle and kind service.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Washington Terrace 7th Ward Chapel, 4855 South 300 West, Ogden, Utah.
Friends may call Friday, August 25, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at Aaron's Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah and Saturday , from 10 to 10:30 am prior to the service at the church.
Interment, Logan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Perpetual Education Fund.
