Our brother Ernie Jr. was born September 16th, 1966 in El Campo, Texas. He was so proud of being a Texan and a Dallas Cowboy fan. His room was covered with Cowboy memorabilia and pictures of his only daughter, Sarah Silvas, whom he named after his grandmother, Sarah Yanez.
Ernie’s doctor gave him the honor of being the first baby to be placed on a diet at the tender age of five months. Jr. was a man of few words and very reserved, unless you started a conversation about his beloved Cowboys. He was always helping anyone in need especially his sisters Debbie, Lonnie, Melody, Melissia and their families. He was ready to give you his last dollar if you needed it.
Ernie always said that his special niece, Alicia, was more like a daughter to him. Alicia was with her uncle in the last seconds of his life on this earth. Our brother had two very special friends whom he worked with for many years, James Robinson and TJ Hodges whom he said would tell us that they were the brothers that he never had.
Jr. believed in the obeyed God’s fifth commandment “Honor your father and mother” which he practiced until his last seconds of life.
Brother, thank you for being in our lives for these past 53 years. Now enjoy your new life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Grandma Sarah until we see each other again in paradise.
Your grateful and loving family
this side of Heaven.
