Ernest F. Martinez- passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Aug 28, 2014.
He has returned to be reunited with his mother, sons, brothers and sisters.
He was born on July 7, 1932 in Alamosa, CO to Margaret Dominquez. He married Josephine Leyva Martinez in 1950 and had 5 children.
He worked for Ogden City and retired from there in 1992.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Our Grandpa LOVE SPENDING TIME WITH HIS FAMILY joking around and always asking “Isn’t it time for you to go home yet? He also love singing “You are my sunshine†to his grandkids who were his pride and joy.
His favorite past time was going to Wendover, listening to western music and sitting in his favorite chair watching his western movies.
He is survived by his wife Josephine, 3 children Lucy Salayandia (Simon), Richard Martinez, Marie Martinez (Raymond), 11 grandchildren (Gloria, Joe, Ernie, Eric, Simon, Marino, Nikita, Mario, Jonathan, Veronica and Lance), 7 great grandchildren (Kameron, Sasha, Marriah, Janae, Shanae, Joey, and Sophie), and 2 Brothers Candy Martin (Ida) and Gable Martinez (Mischelle).
He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret, two sons (Mario and Frankie), three brothers (Rubel, Walter and Teddy), and three sisters (Vangie, Shirley, Edulia).
Grandpa, you will always be close to our hearts. You will always be remembered by all the memories we made and shared. You will be missed dearly and you will never be forgotten.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 10 am at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden, Utah A viewing will be held Wednesday evening, September 3, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm, with Holy Rosary at 7 pm, and on September 4, 2014 from 9 am to 9:45 am at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th St, Ogden. Utah.
