On Friday, March 13, 2009, our beloved father, Ernest LaMoyne Speth, was welcomed back into his Heavenly Father's embrace.
He was born on November 25, 1932, in Logan Utah, to Ernest Herman and Edna Bernice Speth. He was the oldest brother of Ronald (deceased), Lamont (deceased), and Brent (Corinne) Speth of Providence, Utah.
On September 7, 1955, LaMoyne married Lorna Faye Peterson in the Salt Lake Temple, (they later divorced). Together they had seven beautiful children: Kevin L. (Janet) of Hyrum, Steven E. Speth of Twin Falls, Idaho. Laurie (Brad) Bradshaw of Ogden, Jeffrey Dee (JaNae) of North Ogden, SuEllen (Troy) Larsen of Taylor, Bryan LeRoy (Cynthia) of Ogden and Robert Darin (Dana) of Rexford, Kansas. His wondrous posterity continues on with twenty-six grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
LaMoyne began life in Logan, Utah, the son of a dairy farmer, he learned early the ethic of hard work. An attribute that he passed on to all of his children. He lived a diversified life doing many different occupations. He served honorably in the United States Army as well as being an engineer and draftsman. He also taught at Snow College for awhile. Perhaps his biggest legacy was his ability as a Master Cabinet Maker. His cabinets were true works of art that he lovingly produced. For many years he owned his cabinet shop having his children work the wood along side him. During this time he taught them the art of cabinet making along with many life lessons.
In 1993, LaMoyne danced his way into LaDean Brown's heart. They later married in St. George. He was blessed in this union with five step children: Bruce H. Brown (deceased), DayLean (Robert) Houston, Robert Brown, Arell Brown and Lewis Brown. There are thirteen grandchildren and thirty-five great grand children..
LaMoyne was a worthy member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints. His testimony shined as a beacon to his family. He was ordained a High Priest. Later in his life he served two honorable missions.
LaMoyne has been preceded in death by his father, Ernest; his brothers Ronald and LaMont; one stepson Bruce and on precious grandchild; Brody.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Pioneer Valley Nursing home and Integrity Hospice for the kind and loving care given him in his last hours.
