Eva Colaizzi Rauzi, 90, of Layton passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born November 4, 1922 in Ogden, UT to Oreste & Lucia Colaizzi who immigrated from Italy. She graduated in 1941 from Weber High School and worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad and Internal Revenue Service. She married Aldo Rauzi in 1948 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He passed away in 1973, but after waiting patiently for 40 years, they are together and dancing again.
Eva is survived by her children and their spouses Johnny and Lise Rauzi and Lillian and Duane Swallow; sister-in-laws Mary Colaizzi, Orem; Mary Costesso, Ogden. She has four grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Aldo, Brother John Colaizzi, Sister Rose Rey and nephew Ron Rey. We would like to thank the staff of Apple Village Assisted Living and Applegate Hospice for their caring and support during this difficult time.
A viewing will be held Thursday evening, June 27, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm followed by Holy Rosary and Friday morning from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm at Aaron's Mortuary, 1050 South State St, Clearfield, Utah. Funeral Mass on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 1 pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 514 24th St in Ogden. Interment will precede Mass at Ogden City Cemetery.
