Floyd Mathew Andrews

August 6, 1925 — January 7, 2012

On January 7, 2012 our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great- grandfather Floyd Mathews Andrews passed away. He was born August 6, 1925 to Daniel N. and Johannah Mathews Andrews in Logan, Utah. Served honorably in the US Navy from July 31, 1943 to April 1, 1946 and married the love of his life Christabel Palmer, April 17, 1947. His career of 36 year as an Aircraft Mechanic and planner at Hill AFB was marked by many letters of recognition and achievement. He was a member of the Sunset Jaycees and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends. Most summers you would find him at his campsite in the Eagles campground in South Fork Canyon. He leaves behind a legacy of great memories that will last us all a lifetime. He was a member of the Sunset 3rd LDS Ward serving as the Elders Quorum Secretary, a home teacher and assisting in the Boy Scout Program. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, three sons, Dick (Pam) North Ogden, Robert (Cindy) Tooele and James (Joyce) Sunset, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katy Jo Andrews Wiseman; one grandson, Matthew Robert Andrews; a brother, Leland Andrews and a sister, Florence Andrews Purser. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2012 at 11:00AM at the LDS 2nd Ward building, 220 W. 975 N Sunset, UT. Interment will be held at a later date.
