Floyd John Penrod returned home to his loving Heavenly Father on Oct 25 while surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 20, 1925 to Floyd A. and Stella Jane Mills Penrod. He married Donna Dickemore on October 9, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. He lived in the Ogden area most of his life. He served in the Army during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. John worked in finance most of his life retiring from Zion’s Bank. He served as the judge for Pleasant View City for 33 years, as well as serving in various positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. He served in the Ogden Temple for 22 years. John enjoyed working in his garden and wood shop, building many beautiful items. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family
John is survived by his wife, Donna, his children Sharon (Greg) Hopkins, Joanne (Stephen, deceased) Rees, Arlette (Danny) Wilson, Rick (Angie) Penrod, Terry (Bonnie) Penrod and Shellie Penrod; his brothers, Dallas (JoAnn) Penrod, Lynn Penrod, JaNae Penrod and Milton (Suzanne) Penrod with 18 grandchildren and 42 ½ great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Burt and Keith Penrod, sister in laws Darlene and Louise Penrod.
Funeral Services and viewing will be held at the LDS chapel at 250 W Elberta Dr Pleasant View. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 6-8 and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45. With services at 11 am.
Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
