Bruce Robb, 82, passed away in his sleep on Sept 5, 2023.
Frederick Bruce Robb was born on September 26,1940 in Ogden, Utah. His parents were William (Bill) and Evelyn Robb. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1958. He then began work as a firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He loved the mountains and worked for many fire seasons. During the spring of 1964, he was “invited” into the Army during the Vietnam War. He served two years, placed in reserves, and then discharged in 1969. Bruce was trained in communications by the US Army which led to a lifetime career in that field. He worked for TWR Information Systems, Mt Bell and AT&T. Bruce was also a volunteer firefighter for 15 years in the city of South Ogden. He fought fires from 1969-1984.
After retiring from AT&T in 1990, he extended his career an additional 14 years with Weber State University as a communication technician. He retired from WSU in 2004.
Bruce married Mary Anne Singleton in 1966 and together they had one daughter, Angie Robb. They were later divorced.
Bruce spent his spare time playing hard outside. He snow skied, water skied, dirt biked, camped and golfed with many good friends throughout his life. His end of life wishes are to have his ashes spread in the great outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marion. Bruce is survived by his brother Bill Robb (WI), daughter Angela Robb James (Keith), granddaughters: Addie James, Elizabeth James Bertagnole (Ben). He has two great grandsons Noah and Lucas Bertangole.
We would like to thank Legacy House of Ogden for their generous love and care for him during the last few years. We are forever grateful to their staff and kind residents.
A private celebration of his life will be determined at a later date.
