Gabriel Eligio Vigil

Gabriel Eligio Vigil died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born in Capulin, Colorado to Joe D. Vigil and Celia Atencio Vigil on July 4, 1943. Gabe graduated from Davis High School in 1961 and served in the Navy for four years. He retired from a career in the airlines as a supervisor for Northwest Airlines. Gabe married Marsha Duncan, and they had two daughters, Corrie Vigil and Teresa Vigil Allen (Trevis) of Syracuse. They later divorced and he married Paulette Gaudry and had three children Eli Vigil, Myca Pearson (Eric) of Covington, Washington and Jonah Vigil of Los Angeles, California.

Gabe loved sports, particularly football and basketball, animals, live music, tasty food, spending quality time with friends and family, giving nicknames to people, and a good game of pool. He was a giving and compassionate man who was always willing to help out those in need. Gabe is survived by his children: Corrie Vigil (grandchild, Conner (Leilani) Vigil), Teresa Vigil Allen (Trevis) (grandchild, Duncan Allen), Myca Pearson (Eric) (grandchild, Corbin Pearson), Jonah Vigil (grandchild Eli Vigil), a sister, Elvia Gallegos of Layton, Utah, and brothers, Louis Vigil and Richard Vigil (Jeneanne) of Spokane, Washington as well as many cousins and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Eli Gabriel Vigil, his parents, Joe and Celia Vigil; brothers, Alfonso, Jose, and Charlie Vigil; sisters, Lily Cordray, Carmen Deaton, Sylvia Gomez and nephews, Aaron Vigil and Jack Van Fossen.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
