Gay Stewart Mitton returned to our Heavenly Father on November 2, 2016 after a struggle with health complications due to aging. Gay was born in Riverdale, Utah to Duncan Stewart and Thelma Rae Peterson Stewart. She was the fourth of nine children.

 She married Parley N. Mitton in Reno, Nevada in 1954 and was later sealed for time and eternity in the Logan, Utah Temple in February of 1955. Gay was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Gay  loved gardening, painting, cooking, spending time with family, writing poetry and loved sharing her gifts with all those around her. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved the Gospel and sharing her testimony.

She is survived by her husband, Parley and by six of her seven children: Brian (Bonnie), Evan (Rolene), Karen (Todd), Julie, Janet, and Jenny. She has seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven; her parents and her siblings, David and Gwen.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 10 am at the Ogden 5th Ward, 4380 Orchard Avenue, Ogden, Utah.  Visitation will be held  from 9 to 9:45 am for friends

and family. Interment will be at the Brigham City Cemetery with luncheon to follow at the church.We would like to extend our gratitude to the compassionate team of doctors and nurses at the University of Utah Hospital Palliative Care Unit. You made this end of life journey remarkable. Thank You from the Mitton family.
