Georgene B Smith

Georgene passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at the age of 81. She was born December 13, 1942, in Soda Springs, Idaho to George Bybee and Lydia Bell. Mom was the oldest of 4 girls: Lynda, Judy, and Debbie. She grew up in Idaho and Brigham City, Utah.

She married Brian G. Murray on November 20, 1959. From that union they had 4 girls: Lisa, Angie, Kaylene, and Michelle. She enjoyed helping with the horses during Chariot racing and flat track season. They later divorced.

She worked at Thiokol in the mix room where she had made several lifelong friendships. She later retired from Thiokol then also worked at Cal Ranch and the IRS.

Later in life she married Carl T. Smith. They were married on July 20, 1985, and with that union there came 3 stepchildren: Crystal, Connie, and Ted.

Later in life, Mom rekindled her love for horses and barrel racing which she also shared with her daughters. Mom had no fear and often we were closing our eyes and holding our breath as she made her runs. She always loved the support she got from her mom and stepdad. They rarely missed a barrel race.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, and taking grandkids on adventures to Yellowstone. She and Carl enjoyed many trips to Flaming Gorge whether it just be the whole family going fishing or a fishing derby. She loved the outdoors.

She also enjoyed spending her summers up at Sourdough Wilderness Ranch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl T. Smith; her dad, George Bybee; her mother, Lydia; stepdad, Ferron; sister, Linda; and nephew, Lance.

She is survived by her children: Lisa (Chuck) Warner, Angie (Gary) Wilson, Kaylene Murray, and Michelle Martin; her sisters, Judy (Jim) Higley, Debbie (Mike) Bradford; 11 grandkids; several great-grandkids; and many nieces and nephew that she loved.

We would like to thank CNS Hospice for the great care they took of her, Andrea and Veronica.

We will be having a family Celebration of Life at a later date.
