Gerald Patrick "Pat" Hillaker, born on March 17, 1938, to Glenn and Clara Hillaker in Royal Oaks MI, joined his Savior on January 21, 2025. Pat dedicated his life to service, and through the forgiveness of Christ; he is a true “fisher of men”. Next, he is a devoted husband, a loving and supportive father, grandpa, uncle, and friend. He has an unwavering dedication to service, faith, and community.
Pat proudly served in the US military: Air Force, Navy reserve, and retired as a civilian at Hill AF base in Utah. His duty extended beyond the military as the majority of his life he served the Lord; deaconship, preaching, spreading god’s word. After many years of being a volunteer, he became a director at the Rescue Mission and Rescue Havan (SLC, UT). He's a man of deep faith dedicated to spreading God's love and forgiveness to all.
Knowing Pat means you know his best friend and wife, Karen. The love they have for each other is one for the history books. They accepted and loved one another from the moment they met. They conquered many hardships and trials through life. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren is present in our day-to-day life and will be greatly missed.
Pat is survived by Karen Hillaker (Whitelock), his best friend and wife; Glen (Pam) Hillaker, John Hillaker; Brett Hawkins (Shelley Hawkins/Hillaker), Vu Pearson, 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and long list of others he called family and many foster children.
Pat was preceded in death by his son, Rick Hillaker; daughter, Shelley Hawkins (Hillaker); 2 great-grandchildren, siblings, parents, and many brothers and sisters of Christ.
A celebration of Pat’s Life will be held on Thursday, February 6th, at 4 PM, at Mountain View Baptist Church, 2585 E Highway 193, Layton, UT 84040.
