Golden Frederick Flint, “Fred” as he was known to many, passed away peacefully on 12/06/2020 surrounded by his loving family at home.
Fred loved the outdoors; camping, fishing, hunting, and sports. He enjoyed outdoor activities of all seasons! As an avid hunter, Dad had a great respect for the conservation of wildlife and others’ property. Watching basketball was a favorite past time, and he was a huge Jazz fan. Fred also loved old westerns and had an extensive movie collection, which he enjoyed sharing with his family.
He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Afterwards, he was a hard worker for many years at Defense Depot of Ogden until his retirement. Dad could fix just about anything, but had a passion and talent for carpentry and woodworking.
Fred was a loving father of four children: Carrie, Stacey, Wendy (Brent) and Golden Lyle (Rachel). He also shared his life with nine grandchildren: Tabitha (Morgan), Season (Serena), Spryng, Emily, Hailey, Jaxson, Mei, Golden Leon, and Briggs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Golden E. and Elverna. He is survived by his one sister, Ellen (Darrell), and one brother, Walter (Elaine). His relationship with his siblings was very close and he was a loving uncle.
Fred will be missed by the many that knew and loved him.
A small family graveside service will be held at West Point Cemetery in the coming days. To celebrate and remember his life, we will be spreading his ashes in his beloved Uintah Mountains the summer of 2021 with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers we ask that a donation be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Thank you to Aspen Ridge Hospice for Dad’s excellent care and to Aaron’s Mortuary for their assistance.
