Gregory Keith McGavin, 53, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 14, 2009. Greg was born on May 13, 1956 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Lorin Keith and Ida Mae (Dewitt) McGavin.
He graduated from Ogden High School in 1974. He married Carrie Lee Williams on April 17, 1982. Together they had a wonderful son, Gregory Cade. They later divorced. Greg then had a beautiful daughter, Shelby, with Terri Topper.
Greg worked for Kimberly-Clark for the past 25 years. He valued his relationships with his co-workers.
Greg enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, collecting guns, and most of all golfing. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan and loved going to football games.
Greg's children were the light of his life. He was so proud of them. He treasured the golf outings with his son Cade, and the special father/daughter time he spent with Shelby. He had a huge heart and was caring, loving and giving. He was the best dad anyone could ask for. His siblings will cherish the memories of his wit and sense of humor.
Greg is survived by his son and his wife, Cade (Chelsea) McGavin, and daughter, Shelby McGavin, his siblings; Deidre Frank, Jill (Keith) Lythgoe, Chad (Jeanne) McGavin, and Terri McGavin, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Aaron's Mortuary, 1600 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
