Howard Lewis Langston

November 27, 1938 — August 10, 2011

Howard Lewis Langston, 72, went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2011. He was born November 27, 1938 to Lewis and Nellie Langston in Casa Grande, Arizona. He graduated from Downy High School in Modesto, California in 1957. He became a Christian in 1960 and dedicated himself to Christian service in 1961. After he served our country in the U.S. Air force 1956 to 1960, he married Phyllis Eileen Martin on December 27, 1963. He graduated from Western Bible College and went into full time Christian Ministry. He became an ordained minister in 1976 under the Conservative Baptist Association. He pastored several churches while serving with Village Missions. He also pastored several churches throughout California. Howard and Phyllis made their home Ogden, UT where he served as the Director of the Ogden Rescue Mission from 1988 to 2001. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, American Legion and was active in the community with other service organization and churches. Howard is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Mike Lee, Esther Roberts, and John Langston; brothers, James and Marvin; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, plus 2 on the way. A Memorial Service will be held August 14, 2011, 3:00pm at Valley View Baptist Church, 2712 North 400 East, North Ogden, UT 84414.
