On March 27, 2025, God called Iva Lou Pierce home, she was surrounded by loved ones and left with a feeling of peace. Iva was born on June 17, 1959, to Mary Lee Bocek and Garry Clifton Adams, she was the third child of six children and the first girl.
Iva was baptized Catholic and remained strong in her faith. This could be clearly seen throughout her life. She was faced with many hardships and ailments that often left her in pain. Even when she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in January 2025, she never questioned God’s plan for her. She remained strong and continued to try and help others to the end.
Iva loved to cook and was known for her cooking. She made her own recipes and even wrote her own cookbook. Iva could often be found outdoors and enjoyed fishing. She had an amazing green thumb and was proud of her beautiful garden. Iva loved her animals and had many furry friends throughout her life. She was also talented at crochet and sewing, often making her children’s clothing. She loved working in beadwork and created the most beautiful moccasins, jewelry, and rosaries.
Iva had three children: Pawvil, Sarah and Mary. Above all else she loved her numerous grandchildren; they were the light of her life. She was also a mother to all and often claimed others to be her grandchildren even though they weren’t related. She was an incredible helper to her children while raising their children. She wanted to be there as much as she could even traveling all the way to California to help.
She is survived by her children: Pawvil Warner (Jackie), Sarah Walters (Kevin) and Mary Disotell and numerous grandchildren; her siblings, Garry Adams, KC Adams and Patsy (Rory) Siaperas and her second dad Jonnie Hurt. Also survived by her faithful companion Zippy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Van Adams and sister Pauline Adams as well as many four-legged friends.
Iva did not want a funeral, but a Celebration instead.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Lava Hot Springs on May 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Location to be determined.
Mother
Missing You…
Your tenderness and loving ways
Still get us through our lonely days
The picture carries in our minds
With love that stands the test of time
You helped us find our walking shoes
And taught us lessons we still use
Each time we think of you, we smile
We know we’ll see you
After a while!
