Jack Richard Blue

November 12, 1944 — December 1, 2015

 

Jack Richard Blue died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on December 1, 2015 in Ogden, Utah after a valiant fight against cancer.

Jack is survived by wife, Janis; children, Keith, Joe (Angela), Lincoln, Rachelle (Brent), Chris (Jamie), Lyndsey and Emily; along with 19 grandchildren with one of the way and three great- grandchildren with one on the way.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother and sister.

Jack was born on November 12, 1944 in Clinton, Indiana to Joe E. Blue and Beatrice Louise Reeder. He proudly served in the Marine Corps and in Vietnam. He married Margaret VanHoozer and later divorced.  He married Janis Johnson Gill for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 26, 2001. 

Jack was accomplished at woodworking and cabinet restoration.  His pride and joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings over the years.

A viewing is scheduled for Sunday, December 6, 2015  from 7:00 to  9:00 pm at the Eccles Park Ward, 1029 26th Street, Ogden, Utah.  Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015  at 11:00 am at the same location.  Family and friends are welcome to visit from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service.

 In lieu of flowers, a family fund has been setup to assist with final expenses and donations can be made at any America First Credit Union to the “Blue Family Memorial” or via PayPal to bluea220@yahoo.com.

The family would like to thank the McKay Dee Hospital Staff and our family and friends for their dedicated care and support.
