James V Skinner

October 6, 1939 — May 3, 2013

Our beloved husband, father, and brother James V. Skinner passed away May 3, 2013 at Davis Medical Center ICU after a brief devastating illness. He was born October 6, 1939 in Tooele, UT to Vincent and Georgia Young Skinner He attended schools in Ophir and Tooele, as well as the University of Utah and Dixie College. Jim worked at the Ophir Hill Mine, Lehi City, Thiokol, and the Mine Safety and Health Administration where he retired. You could take the man out of the mining town but not the mine out of the man. He continued to teach mine safety training after his retirement as he enjoyed it so much. He loved his garden and grew the best tasting tomatoes around with his tender loving care. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Linola; children, Anna Skinner and Mike Skinner (Becky), children of Linnea Zimmerman; sons, Vincent Skinner (Kristina) and Austin Skinner (Haylee), sons of Linola Skinner; brother, John Skinner (Chris); 4 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gladys Ann. Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Kaysville 13th Ward, 875 E. 200 N. in Kaysville where friends may visit with the family from 10-11 a.m. prior to service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in the form desired by friends.
