Janice passed away Sunday April 10, 2022, at the age of 72. Janice was born in Weber County, Utah to Blaine and Florence (Gamboni) Brunker.

Janice is survived by her brother Bob Brunker, sister Betty Davis, and her two sons, Larry Lusk, and David Lusk. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Ralph Richey.

Janice first married in 1968 and gave birth to two sons whom she loved dearly and stayed close to all of her life. She married the love of her life Ralph Richey in 1988 and they spent time hunting, camping, and fishing in a lot of areas throughout Utah and Idaho including the Unita Mountain Range and Crawford mountains in Northeastern Utah. They spent many years living in Island Park Idaho where they thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and adventures there.  Later they moved to Payson, Arizona where they were close to Ralph’s family.  Janice made a lot of friends and connections down there with her bright personality and easy ability to connect with others.

Janice moved back to Roy, Utah to be closer to her sons after Ralph passed away in 2015.  There she became a crossing guard for Roy city, and she loved the opportunity to both serve and befriend the children of her neighborhood and community. The children on her route loved her deeply and always brought her treats and small thank you notes that were very special to her.

Janice would tell stories that you wouldn’t know if you were coming or going from, but were always entertaining and fun.  She loved meeting people, making new friends, visiting her neighbors, going to the temple, spending time with her grandkids, and trying to help everyone she met.  Janice was an animal lover and adopted as many furry family members as she could.

Janice was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, devoted Christian in the faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed service activities in her ward and served in several callings in her church. Her bishop commented that she was the best missionary he had ever had in his ward. She truly loved the Lord Jesus Christ.

An open house memorial will be held in honor of Janice on Wednesday, 20 April 2022 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter Day Saints 3845 South 2000 West; Roy, UT 84067.
