Jared Roy Peterson, 45, passed away July 1, 2024, in Roy, Utah. He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Jared was born April 19, 1979, in Ogden, Utah. He grew up in Ogden, graduated from Bonneville High School, and attended Weber State University.
Jared was a dedicated father and would spend most of his free time with his daughter, cheering her on at her volleyball games and band performances. They loved to go out to restaurants, watch superhero movies, and play video games together. Being a father was one of the most important parts of Jared’s life, and he often spoke about how proud he was of his daughter and how much he loved her.
Jared enjoyed golfing and camping with family and friends. Many cherished memories of Jared involve playing 18 holes at Riverside or sitting around a fire at his family’s property. He was also an avid sports fan, following the San Francisco Forty Niners, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and New York Mets. He would often try to coerce his nephews when they were little to say, “Go Mets!” He was able to go to New York to see a Mets game and to South Bend to see the Fighting Irish play the Utes.
He is survived by his daughter, Mara Peterson; his father, LeRoi (Valee) Peterson; his stepfather, Lynn Berry; his grandmother, Luetta London; his siblings: Denin (Jaime) Peterson, Tia Peterson, Tiffany (Trevor) Hunt, Jorden Holston, Jacoy (Mike) Harjala, Janaee (Patrick) Gatlin, Jake Berry; as well as his aunt and uncle, cousins, many nieces and nephews, and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lori London Berry, and his grandfather, Frank London.
