Jason Ray Archuleta was born February 25, 1981, to Raymond Richard Archuleta and Lynda Ann Jobe in Ogden, UT.
Jason met his 'baby bear' Sharilyn Owen in July 1999 when he was at Lagoon with his mom and Aunt. Sharilyn was brave enough to go up to him and get his number. He was so mad she didn't call for a whole week! It was love at first sight for both of them. They were engaged by Christmas and married March 17, 2001 after welcoming their first baby.
In 24 years, they had 6 amazing kids and he was a great Pampa Pokey to the 4 cutest grandkids.
Jason was an amazing mechanic. His love for cars started the day he got his license at 18 years of age. He had amazing teachers along the way but was mostly self-taught. He worked at Jed Tire Pros most recently and was happy working there, especially with Jed and Lewie.
Most weekends you would find Jason along with his wife and kids at Rocky Mountain Raceways. He did the work and enjoyed racing his Eclipses/Talons and lastly the Galant. He was a diamond star at heart, but his latest passion was his beloved Toyota Tacoma. He loved his truck so much that when Sharilyn would suggest they drive the Camry with better gas mileage, he would say, 'But what about my truck?'. He washed it at least once a week.
Jason's love for archery began at a young age when he hunted with his uncle Tom. He left it for a bit but had started making his way back the last 5 years or so. Many, many, many weekends were spent going to shoots. He took 2nd place most recently on March 15, 2025. He didn’t care about the money; he loved trying to win the belt buckles. He was a Hoyt man through and through. His latest goal was to get the Rx9. Surely, he's getting bullseyes all day long now.
Jason is survived by his wife Sharilyn; children Aubrey Archuleta (Damien Anderson), Austin (Janessa) Archuleta, Kaydee Archuleta (William Hensley), Sally Archuleta, Kooper Archuleta, and Bowen Archuleta. Grandchildren Amelia, Wednezday, Everson, Liliana. His mom Lynda Jobe, sister Shasta, uncle Tom, mother-in-law Linda Owen, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his dad Raymond, father figure David Flinder, father-in-law Robert Owen, and brother Brad Archuleta.
Celebration of life will be held April 12, 2025 @ 4pm. Weber County Archery Park - Bakou Center, 2840 F Ave Ogden, UT 84401.
Special thank you to his best friends AKA brothers James, Matt, Chris, and archery brothers Tyler and Trey. Thank you to Aaron's mortuary, the officers who assisted us, and loved ones who have reached out to show their love and support.
Jason was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He touched more lives than he will ever know and frequently told us to 'drive fast safely'! We will do our best to do so, even though we don’t know how we will get on without him. We know he’s not far.
