Jason Michael Kitten passed away on January 01, 2023. He is survived by his wife Linda Kitten, his sons Joe, Ethan and Daniel Kitten, his parents Phillis and Mike Kitten, and sister Shannon Kitten-Flores. He and Linda met in high school in 2001 and the two married in Silver City New Mexico June 27, 2008. They were together for 20 years.
Jason’s passions were diverse and unique. While in high school, Jason lettered in ice hockey and earned the nickname “The Enforcer” as a talented right wing. He loved following the NHL and relished attending local professional games. For decades, Jason studied MP, an Indonesian martial art focusing on mental and physical acuity through meditation and breathing. Most recently, Jason found happiness in his skill and creativity at bar-b-que with the smoker he received from Linda.
To Jason, nature was his religion. He felt most connected to his purpose and place in life while immersed in the mountains with those he treasured most – Linda and the boys. The family would regularly take up to the mountains for what Jason would lovingly call going to church. His passion for the outdoors is a true Kitten mark, passed on from generations before that will surely continue through his children in his memory.
Above all else, Jason cherished nothing more than family. His boys were the light of his life, and it was never more evident than when he was around his sons. He was also a devoted husband who knew he had found a true partner in love and life in Linda, his wife of 14 years. To know Jason was to know who and what he loved. To see his joy when he was with his family, or his peace when he was surrounded by mother nature. May he now find eternal joy and peace.
