Jason Allen Rackham

June 8, 1981 – May 27, 2016

Jason Allen Rackham was born on June 8, 1981 in Ogden, Utah to Brent Rackham and Leanne Wilcox.  Jason was the first born son, and an absolute gift to his loving and devoted parents.  Jason was raised in North Ogden, Utah and lived there the majority of his life, Jason never wandered too far from family; his parents, as well as his three brothers were the true joy in his life.

Jason graduated from Weber High School in 1999.  Jason married his High School sweetheart Kristen Rackham, the very same year.  They had three children together:  Taven, Jason’s oldest son, is truly his father’s son, with a fierce need for independence, and a stubbornness that can shake the most patient of souls;  Reise, Jason’s second born son has the same undeniable twinkle in his eye his father always had, he is very laid back and easygoing, character traits that Jason carried well;  Addy Mae, Jason’s youngest child and only daughter, has inherited Jason’s zest for life and love for the excitement of a new journey or challenge.

Jason made his living in the field of HVAC.  Jason was handed down the knowledge of the trade by multiple family members, although, Jason was able to truly hone in on his skills under the watchful eye of his father Brent.  Between Jason’s natural curiosity to understand how all things work and his uncanny ability to make lasting friends in every room he entered, Jason was able to create an exceptional career for himself in the field.

Jason had a fierce passion to do everything and anything that involved athleticism and skill.  Jason was an avid skier and golfer, both activities he especially enjoyed in the company of his mother Leanne, who shared his love of all things extreme.  Jason was a professional MMA fighter and was quickly creating a name for himself in the sport.  Jason loved to compete, much to the chagrin of his three younger brothers, Joshua Rackham, Jacob Rackham, and Jared Rackham.  Jason’s brothers, who were also his most loyal fans, fought a long and valiant uphill battle of having a brother who was simply exceptional at all things he attempted to do.

Jason loved to travel and especially enjoyed taking road trips on his Harley Davidson.  Jason was a gifted rider and was able to find a sense of freedom on the road.  It never mattered if Jason was with family or friends, it seemed a new adventure was never too far off in the horizon.

Jason is survived by his parents, Brent Rackham and Leanne Wilcox; the mother of his children, Kristen Rackham; his three children, Taven (16), Reise (14), and Addy Mae (11); and his three brothers, Joshua (Jessica) Rackham, Jacob Rackham, and Jared Rackham.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandmother Hazel Rackham, who offered him acceptance and warmth throughout his life as only a grandmother can.

At 35 years of age, on Friday May 27, 2016, Jason passed away in his home in North Ogden, Utah.  His life was short, but his experiences and relationships were rich, as anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him will attest to.

Jason never turned down an opportunity to dance or to celebrate, therefore, we would like to invite any and all who knew and loved him to attend a celebration of his life Thursday, June 2, 2016, at the Lighthouse on 25th Street at 6:00 p.m.  In addition, friends and family are invited to a memorial toast and tree planting which will take place on June 8, 2016, at the Ogden Golf and Country Club at 6:00 p.m.
