It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jeanette Arteaga, who left us on July 13, 2024, at the age of 33. Jeanette was born on May 13, 1991, in Oxnard, California, and lived a life full of love, creativity, and compassion.
Jeanette earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a minor in computer science from the University of Utah. After graduation, she pursued a successful career as a software engineer, where her intellectual curiosity and dedication to learning were evident in all she did.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jeanette was a talented photographer and watercolor artist. She found joy in capturing the beauty of the world and every moment of her daughter’s growth. An avid mountain climber, she embraced the challenges of the great outdoors with enthusiasm and grace. Jeanette was also known for her impeccable fashion sense, always expressing herself with style and elegance.
Jeanette’s kindness and compassion touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She leaves behind her loving husband, Jesus Zarate, and their cherished daughter, Romi. She is also survived by her devoted parents, Sergio and Laura Arteaga.
Above all, Jeanette was an extraordinary wife and mother. Her love for Jesus and Romi was boundless, and she dedicated herself to creating a warm, nurturing home filled with laughter and joy. Jeanette’s unwavering support and affection for her family were the cornerstones of her life. She was a source of strength and comfort, always putting her loved ones first and ensuring they felt cherished every day.
Jeanette’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of love, creativity, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Jeanette’s strength and determination were evident throughout her life, especially in her courageous battle with illness. She fought valiantly and with grace, embodying resilience and hope.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden, Utah 84401. Friends may visit with family at a Viewing on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah 84401. Interment, Plain City Cemetery, 4373 West 1975 North, Plain City, Utah 84404.
