Jeannine Maud Stevens, born on February 15, 1929, in Montpelier, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on October 25, 2024, in Roy, Utah. She was the cherished daughter of Merlin David Stevens and Sarah Maud Jacobson, whose unwavering love shaped the foundation of her remarkable life.
A devoted member of her community, Jeannine served with grace as the secretary of the Roy 6th Ward Relief Society, embodying a spirit of service and compassion. She had an innate ability to connect with those around her, taking great joy in visiting with friends and loved ones. Her enthusiasm for shopping often brought her happiness and memorable moments.
Jeannine's devotion to her family was the cornerstone of her existence. She treasured her role as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, showering her sons, Chad (Jackie) and Brad Lauritzen, with unending love. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Nicole (Eddie), Amber (Neil), Rob (Lamisha), and Jeff (Sarah), along with seven great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Marlene Kunz, and was preceded in death by her brothers, Arvel and DeVerle, along with her beloved parents.
Professionally, Jeannine dedicated twenty years of her life to the IRS, where her diligence and commitment were deeply valued. She later brought her warmth and kindness to the customer service counter at Newgate Mall, where patrons were always greeted with her welcoming smile.
An accomplished individual, Jeannine graduated from Bear Lake High School a year early and was married in the Idaho Falls Temple to Dale Lauritzen, with whom she shared 29 years. In her leisure time, she embraced hobbies such as reading and crocheting, which filled her heart with gratification.
Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the incredible caregivers at Active Homecare Health and her senior companion, Judy, whose support enriched her later years.
A memorial service will be held on November 1, 2024, at 12 p.m. at the Cedar Crest Ward, located at 3845 South 2000 West in Roy. Following the service, a luncheon will be served hosted by the Relief Society. She will be laid to rest in peace at Montpelier Cemetery during inurnment on November 8, 2024, at 1 p.m.
Jeannine leaves behind a tapestry of love, devotion, and cherished memories. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
