Joe B. Trujillo died Tuesday Oct 22, 2013 of illness related to age. He was taken away from us by an angel, but Joe died in the arms of his beloved wife of 71 yrs. He was born March 19, 1924 in Maxwell, New Mexico, the son of Blas and Virginia Trujillo. He married Adeline Romero on August 29, 1942. Joe and Lena had just celebrated their 71st anniversary this past August . Joe was very proud of his military service and was a veteran of World War II. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Sirius from 1943-1945. Joe loved the navy and the ocean. Joe was extremely patriotic and he hung his American flag at his home every day. After returning home from the war he and his wife moved to Ogden, Utah where they raised their family of six children. Joe was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Joe retired after 36 years from Amcor Masonry Company and our family is proud of his dedication to his career and strong work ethic. Joe always said, "Take care of your job" and his words will be forever remembered by those who knew him well. Joe and Lena were snowbirds and were making plans to go to Arizona for their annual trip when Joe passed away. Joe was an inspiration to all who knew him; he was the rock and foundation of our family and he will truly be missed by all. Joe enjoyed camping, hunting, and vacationing in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho with his family. Joe was an exceptional gardener and he was especially proud of his green Chile garden he grew each year. He is survived by his wife Lena; children, Rich Trujillo, Ogden; Theresa (Joe) Elwood, Wasco, CA; Arthur (Susan) Trujillo, North Ogden; Jeannie (John) Cutlip, Ogden; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters Lucia Macias, North Ogden, UT, Della (David) Randall, Bremerton, WA. And many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two children Joe M. Trujillo, Jolene Oney and 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 1030 am at St Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden, UT. A Memorial Service will be held Monday evening, October, 28, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm with Holy Rosary at 7 pm at Aaron's Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah. Inurnment immediately following mass at Evergreen Memorial Park,100 N Monroe Blvd, Ogden.
