John Stanley Durrant

John "Stanley" Durrant was born in Ogden Utah on 10/30/1946 to Robert L & Esther Irene Durrant. He died peacefully at his home on 05/27/2014. After high school he joined the Navy in Feb. 1964. He served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged Oct. 1967. He married Susan Connell on March 08, 1975. They were later divorced but remained very close friends. He has 4 Children: Lisa Holman, Seattle, WA; Melissa (Travis) Hicks, Mesquite, NV; Tami Jo (Roger) Esplin, Clinton, UT; Ted (Sherri) Durrant Mariott-Slatterville, UT He worked for Ogden City and Keir Corporation. He also worked for the Bank of Utah where he later retired. Stan was a master craftsman. He loved hunting with his brothers (he never shot many deer but the campsite sure was clean). Throughout his life he owned many dogs Taffy, Muffy, Kit to name a few, all of which he loved very much; but his greatest love in life was his grandchildren. He was survived by: June (Sterling) King, AZ; Jim (Jackie) Durrant; Scott (Lois)Durrant,Roy, UT; Kathy (Bill) Jenkins, CA; Lynn Durrant, NV;Lynnette (Jeff) Tams, Paradise, UT; Peggy Durrant, MT; Jay (Tori) Durrant, N Ogden, UT; Mary Egbert, Ogden, UT; Kenny (Ann) Durrant, So. Weber, UT; Joe (Kay) Durrant, Willard UT; two brother in laws; Junior and Ron; Lisa Holman, Seattle, WA;Melissa(Travis) Hicks,Mesquite, NV; Tami Jo (Roger) Esplin, Clinton, UT; Ted (Sherri) Durrant, Mariott-Slatterville, UT; and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: His parents, 4 Sisters: Dorothy, Barbara, Norma, Tessie; 5 Brother-in-Laws: Norman, Gary, Sterling, Jeff. Stan's children would also like to give a special thanks to Mary Egbert for all her time and love that she has given to Stan over the years making him warm meals, grocery shopping, taking Stan to Dr visits and to her devotion over the past few years of his illness. A memorial service is being held June 2, 2014 at the VFW, 907 W 12th Street, Ogden, Utah from 2 pm-4pm.
