John Robert Hodges

July 24, 1961 — January 27, 2016

John Robert Hodges, 54, of Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully on 01/27/2016 in Ogden, Utah.

John was born in Philadelphia, PA to Mae & Robert Hodges on July 24, 1961; He was affectionately known as “Bobby.” He served in the Army after attending Bartram High School in Philadelphia, PA. Bobby always wanted to see what the world had to offer outside of Baltimore Ave and the family store in Philly. These dreams are how he ended up in Utah. When Bobby set an idea in motion in his mind of where life was supposed to lead off he went to make it happen! He danced the rhythm of life to his own beat. He made the best of every situation and lived for the good times. He could go on for hours about his favorite football team the Philadelphia Eagles during football season or when anyone would listen. He also loved good food and friends; he never met a stranger or missed a good meal. Bobby was his happiest being surrounded by his loved ones enjoying each other’s stories where life has taken them.
John is preceded in death by his father, Robert Hodges, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
John is survived by his wife, Mary, of Ogden, Utah; his mother, Mae M. Hodges, of Charlotte, NC.; his daughters, Kaeisha A. Hodges, of Hopewell, VA and Brittany N. Hodges, of Greenville, NC.; his sisters, Delores Glass, of Woodbridge, VA and Mae M. Bryant of Charlotte, NC; brothers, John “Bob” Hodges and Raymond Jordan of South Carolina, Raymond Hodges (Mildred), of Wilson, NC.; and a host of aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, family and friends.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all that have expressed their condolences and sympathy to the family during this time.
