John W. Miles

January 26, 1957 – May 4, 2017

John William Miles was born January 26,1957 in Oak Creek, CO. He passed away of natural causes in his home in Roy, UT May 4, 2017.

He was a gentle giant; an extremely loyal & loving man who always put his family first. He married his wife and best friend Kristie Van Vliet June 19, 1993 and devoted the rest of his life to being a husband and father. He was extremely proud of all his children and grandchildren and was looking forward to watching them continue to accomplish their life goals.

A Jack of all trades, he was extremely intelligent and could fix anything. He took great pride in his work and it showed. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the outdoors and  spending time with his family and his beloved dog,  Molly. He loved music and shared that love with his family.

Survived to grieve John's passing include: his loving wife, Kristie Miles; daughters, Brandee Hicks of NC and Amee Miles of UT; son, Justin Miles (Julie Ikeda) of UT;  and grandsons, Allen and Luke Hicks of NC. In addition his sister, Terri McNutt (Joe) of CO, and brother Lance Miles (Jane) of CO and loving mother- in- law, Patricia Orazio of UT as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends.  

He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Kyle Miles of UT; his mother ,Virginia Thornton  and father, Elvin Miles of CO.
