Jose Richard Medina
Dad was born on April 9th, 1948, in Holman New Mexico to Ricardo and Maria Medina. He was the oldest of 6 children. Dad served in the Army during The Vietnam War and was awarded A Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars. After years of service, he was honorably discharged. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 37 years. In those 37 years he had multiple nominations awards and letters of appreciation for his hard work and dedication. Dad happily retired in 2006.
He has 8 children / Stepchildren : Lori , Andrew , Anthony , Nathan, Matthew , Gregory , Ricky and Preceded in Death by his Son Nicholas Medina , Brother Daniel Medina and Father Ricardo Medina. Dad was blessed with many Grandchildren, Grea-tgrandchildren, and Great-Great Grandchildren. He had two dogs that he loved and cared for dearly : Kodiak and Coco.
Dad was an Expert Fisherman and Hunter. He loved camping and spending time with his family around the fire . You could always find him near the river. He loved traveling to Hawaii , Alaska and Washington to see his Mom Maria. In his travels he created lifelong friends and many extended family members. Dad loved taking trips to Wendover Nevada and Blackfoot Idaho. If anyone knew if Dad, they knew of his feisty attitude and unwillingness to hold back. He will be missed but not forgotten .
Dad left us on December 28th, 2021. We will have a Celebration of Life , Sunday January 9th, 2022, from 1 to 5 pm at THE VFW 907 W 12st Street Ogden Utah 84404 . Inviting friends and family to a potluck luncheon to share stories and experiences of how he impacted their lives.
Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again.
