Joyce Ahlf

July 9, 1956 — June 26, 2023

Joyce Lillian Ahlf passed away surrounded by family June 26th 2023. She was the first born to Jose and Della Lucero  July 9th 1956 at Hill Airforce Base in Clearfield Utah.

She had one daughter Christine Farias Medina on May 23rd 1973 at Fort Hood Army Base in Killeen, Texas. Just like a mama bear.   She loved, protected and spoiled her with all her heart. She talked about how proud she was of her daughter to many family and friends.

One of the happiest days of her life was March 3rd 1993 at 3:00 pm  in Ogden when she married the man of her dreams Bart Ahlf. They enjoyed many adventures throughout their marriage. They were married for 30 years full of love joy, laughs and happiness. Early on in their marriage they started their own trucking company where she was a driver, dispatcher, HR and payroll.  She then decided to work for the IRS where she retired from 2021. She met a lot of friends there, to know her is to love her. She always had a positive attitude.

Her family meant everything to her and she was there for them all the time with wise advice. She fought a long battle, but Pancreatic cancer was what took her. Even in her last days she remained positive and was not afraid of death. She was more concerned about her daughter and her husband. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her

She is preceded in death by her father, Jose Lee Lucero; her mother, Della Esquibel Lucero; her one and only grandchild, Garrett Lee Doyle; her brother, Gary Lee Lucero and sister-in-law, Jessica Lucero; and her 2 fur babies Lucy and Daisy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bart; her daughter, Christine Farias Medina (Nate); sisters, Cyndy Van Nattan,  Debbie Lucero Perry (Mike); and all her nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Elevation Hospice team and a special thank you to her nurse Jacoy.   In lieu of flowers her request was to donate to a dog rescue or animal shelter.

My Mom was one of a kind and I was blessed to have her as my Mom .
