Karin Gilmore, 77, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015. She was born on June 15, 1938 to Fritz and Herta Oestereich in Lensahner Hof, Schleswig Holstein, Germany.
She married James Joseph Gilmore on December 31, 1980 in Bremerhaven, Germany. James passed away on January 30, 2002. In 1983 Karin and two of her sons moved to the United States.
Karin loved bowling and bowled at Ben Lomond lanes for many years. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed cooking and feeding her family.
Karin is survived by her four sons, Kai Tachibana, Germany; Björn Romund, Germany; Derrik Gilmore, Roy; and Kevin “Nica†Gilmore, Riverdale; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Inge, Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and one sister.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Utah Veterans Memorial Park. Cremation entrusted to Aaron’s Mortuary of Ogden.
