Kathleen "Kathie" Orell passed away August 6th 2012, at the home of her daughter, after a two month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born October 5, 1959 to Rodney H. and Joan Staker Orell in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Bonneville High School and the University of Utah with a degree in Geography. Kathie had a beautiful smile, wonderful laugh, and a warm heart. She loved fall, winter, spring and the rain. Kathie often said the best years of her life were when she worked in New York City as a Mitigation Specialist for FEMA. This job gave her the opportunity to travel and help communities prepare for natural disasters. She was working in Manhattan on 9/11. She is survived by her parents; sister, Rhonda (David) Shepherd; brother, David Orell; her children: Sloan Baton, Khylie Baton, and Slade Wilson; and one granddaughter, Jauslyn Linford she lovingly called "Bubbles." The most important thing in the world to Kathie was her three children and grandbaby. Our sincere gratitude to Ryan, Karlene, and Lindy Lindford for all of the love and support they've shown our family, to Sloan for all the tender love and care she gave her mama, and to the Intermountain Hospice Team. Kathie WE LUBBA, LUBBA, LUBBA YOUS. As per Kathie's wishes there will be no funeral services.
