Larry C Walton

August 16, 1935 — September 1, 2017

Larry C. Walton passed away with his family at his side in his South Ogden home on Friday, September 1, 2017. Larry is survived by his wife, Jenny Lee Frandsen Walton; one sister, Betty Walquist; and two daughters, Lisa (m. Alan) Dayley and Laura (m. Blayne) Soulé. Larry has six grandchildren and three great grandchildren with whom he always enjoyed spending time.

Larry was born on August 16, 1935 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was the youngest of four children of Charles Lewis Walton and Mabel Irene Merrill. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School, attended the University of Utah and received a B.S. of Mathematics from Idaho State University. Soon after graduation Larry met Jenny, his wife, through their mothers, who were mutual friends. They were married on May 14, 1965, and their union was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Larry was proud to serve in the United States Navy. After two years of active duty in Adak, Alaska, he was honorably discharged and continued his service as a Navy Reservist for five years.

Larry spent most of his career as a computer programmer doing contract work with EG&G at INEL in Idaho. His programming skills later brought him to Ogden to work at Hill Air Force Base where he worked until retirement.

As a young adult, Larry became a seasoned bowler. However, Larry was always drawn to the beauty of nature, appreciated spending time in the mountains, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was also very fond of the beautiful plant and flower landscaping he and his wife arranged around their home. He and Jenny also enjoyed attending many musical concerts over the years, a legacy passed onto their posterity. Larry was a thoughtful man with a warm personality and a kind heart who knew how to make people feel appreciated. He loved and treasured his family, and always found joy in spending time with them.
