Laurie Jo Brouwer-Chenoweth

September 27, 1970 — October 3, 2024

Laurie Jo Brouwer-Chenoweth passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, after a year-long battle with heart failure. She was born and spent her childhood in Waterloo, Iowa as the third of three daughters to John and Mary Brouwer, and while as an adult lived in Wisconsin and Utah.

Best known for her roles as daughter, wife, and mother, Laurie was wildly independent, joining the Army right out of high school, and served honorably as an MP, including overseas service in South Korea. Laurie was also a certified Veterinarian Technician for many years and deeply loved all kinds of animals, always surrounded by a variety of beloved pets. She loved riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle on the country roads of Wisconsin, camping in the beautiful wild places of Utah and Idaho, and taking care of her own family of pets.

As a wife, she traveled in support of her husband's career in the military, taking charge of her family unit as a dedicated military spouse. She was a supportive mother and wife to her family and always strived to raise them up to overcome their challenges, always welcoming others that joined her pack with the same open arms she had for her children.

Laurie is survived by her husband of nearly twenty-five years, Brian Chenoweth; her father, John Brouwer; her sister, Julie Martinson; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Nicholas & Christina Chenoweth and Trevor & Hannah Valdes-Chenoweth; and her grandson, Alaster Chenoweth. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Brouwer, and her oldest sister, Cindy Goode.

In honor of her wishes, no formal services will be held.
