ROY - On Sunday, May 18, 2014, LaVern Wing Pingree passed away from causes due to age and returned to her Father in Heaven. She was born April 12, 1924 in Springville, Utah, a daughter of Joseph Smith Wing and Vera Annetta Boulton Wing. She attended Bingham High School and LDS School of Nursing. LaVern married her eternal companion, Wallace Boyle Pingree, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 30, 1948. LaVern was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lakeview Ward. She served faithfully in many church callings throughout her life. She worked at the family-owned restaurant, Ma's and Pa's and Roy Lumber Company. LaVern loved sewing, quilting, crocheting and made Books of Remembrance, which she did for all of her grandchildren. She loved her time spent with all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She treasured the many fun times with her friends. She was always willing to help and serve wherever she was needed. Surviving are two daughters and two sons, Karen Harris, Cynthia (Doug) Garmire, Craig (Denise) Pingree, and Brent (Diane) Pingree; one son-in-law, Art Milito; 17 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace Pingree; daughter, Debbie Milito; and son-in-law, Lynn Harris. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11 am at the Lakeview Ward Chapel, 4900 South, 2000 West, Roy, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening, May 21, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Aaron's Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah and from 0945 to 1045 am prior to services at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. The family expresses a special thanks to the Hospice nurses and to the nurses at Manor Care Nursing Center for their compassionate care in LaVern's behalf. Mom was loved and will be missed by all that knew her. All our love.
