Lawrence Montiel

November 26, 1985 — February 6, 2009

Lawrence Montiel 23, passed on Friday February 6, 2009. Lawrence left behind the worries and challenges he faced here on earth and returned home to live in eternal peace with Jesus. Lawrence was born on November 26, 1985 in San Jose, CA. He lived in Roy and was raised by his Aunt, Frances Duncan.

Lawrence graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 2004 where he participated in basketball, soccer and golf. He was on the 2003 Boy's State Championship Cross Country Team. Lawrence will be remembered for his contagious smile and his gift to make others laugh.

He worked as an apprentice plumber in Salt Lake, and volunteered for The Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

He loved his family and cherished his Aunt Frances who raised and supported him from the tender age of four. He was a treasure to his Aunt Frances and his entire family, who now mourn his passing and struggle with the senselessness of the affliction that took him away.

On December 23, 2005 Lawrence married Cherrie Hartman. Cherrie was Lawrence's wife, soul mate, and best friend. He loved her unconditionally and she him. On October 3, 2005 Lawrence was blessed with a baby boy. Lawrence was a truly devoted father who believed the sun rose and set with his son Collin. Lawrence treasured every minute of the short time he had with his family.

Lawrence is survived by his wife Cherrie, son Collin, Aunt Frances Duncan, Stepfather Richard Duncan, Sister Sophia Montiel.
