Leah Mae Oman
Leah passed away Sunday March 12, 2023 in her home in North Ogden Utah of natural causes.
Leah was born March 19, 1940 in Price, Utah to Lola M. Richens and Clyde D. Oman.
Her family moved to Brigham City where she grew up.
Leah married John M Jensen, they had 1 child, Julie they were later divorced.
Leah graduated from Stevens Henagar College and became a secretary at Thiokol where she met Howard Gibby. They were married and had 2 children, Randy and Janean Gibby. They were later divorced.
She married A. Lamont Fowers. They were later divorced.
Leah graduated from Weber State College in Ogden on June 6, 1980 receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Management.
She worked at Hill Air Force Base and retired from there at 65. She received many awards and commendations for her excellent work achievements.
She loved to travel, ski, bowl and golf. She enjoyed the women’s golf association at The White Barn in Pleasant View.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed playing the piano for the Relief Society. She was very sad when she had to stop due to health problems.
She had a big soft heart for small defenseless animals. She was adopted by several feral cats that could sense her compassion for them and took care of them until the day she passed.
She had 6 brothers, Keith Thompson (Gwen), Neil Oman (Charlene), Glen Oman (Elaine), Bruce Oman (Carolyn), Kent Oman (LaDawn) and Jon Oman (Peggy).
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Keith and Glen and her son Randy and is survived by her daughters Julie Yeates (Ralph) and Janean Gibby, grandchildren Marc Smith, Matthew Eklund (Rebekah) and Jennifer Eklund.
Per her wishes no Memorial Service will be held. She was cremated through Aaron’s Mortuary.
