Les died February 20, 2013 at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home. He was born October 21, 1926 in Ogden to Alex and Angelina Magagna. His Father died a few months before Les was born. Two years later his Mother married Mario Magagna who was a great and loving father. He attended St Joseph Catholic School, public school and graduated from Weber High School. He attended Weber College on the GI Bill of Rights after serving in the Army's First Cavalry Division. He served in the Occupation of Japan. He married Emma Colleni on February 12, 1949 at St Joseph's Catholic Church. He was active in the Catholic Church having served on the Parish Council and as an usher during Saturday evening Mass. He was employed at Continental Baking Company for 32 years retiring a Chief Maintenance Engineer in 1985. He was an avid reader of history. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, puttering in his workshop and traveling in his mini-motor home. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert. He is survived by his wife, Emma; sons, Steven (Maureen) Magagna and David Magagna; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother, Ray (Vivian) Magagna of Oregon. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care shown to Les at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home; also Bristol Hospice; for the prayers and comfort offered by the clergy, especially Dawn Dribble who brought Holy Communion to Les on Sundays; and for the friends and neighbors who offered their support and love. Services will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 514 24th St, Ogden,Utah. Visitation will begin at 1 pm followed by Holy Rosary at 1:30 pm and Funeral Mass at 2 pm. Interment Ogden City Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded.
