Leslie Duane Zike
Leslie Duane Zike died February 20, 2017, after suffering a stroke and heart attack. Les was born February 6, 1957, to Shirley Ann Williamson and Herbert Leroy Zike.
He was raised in Henderson, Nevada, and went to Basic High School before serving an LDS mission in the Philippines from 1976–1978.
He married Kimberly Kay Collins in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 22, 1980. Together they had six children: Joseph (Dafina), Shelby (Aaron), Tiffany, Benjamin (Jessica), Annelise (Tyler), and Briana (Matthew).
Les worked as an EMT while attending BYU University pursuing a criminal justice degree. He worked in the Provo Police Department before serving as a member of the Henderson Police Force from 1986–1997. After retiring from the police force he worked with his father in Oklahoma from 1997–1999. In 1999 he and his family moved to Utah, and his last position was working for the State of Utah as a fingerprint analyst.
He loved the Gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and never wavered in his devotion. Les had lots of friends and family, and he was never happier than when he was serving others.
Les was preceded in death by his father, Hebert Leroy.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley; his brother, Keith; his sister, Jan; his wife, Kim; his six children and nine grandchildren.
Services for Les will be held Friday, February 24, 2017, at the LDS Fox Hollow chapel at 2150 S. 800 E. Clearfield, UT 84015. The viewing will be from 9:00 to 10:30 am, with the funeral service at 11:00 am. The graveside service will follow immediately after at the Clearfield City Cemetery 1050 S State Street, Clearfield, Utah.
