Linda Ann Sandman

Linda was born February 26, 1941 to Antonio and Doris Rivas.

She lost her battle from multiple sicknesses brought on from diabetes, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 16, 2017.

After her schooling Linda lived in Los Angeles for a short time, from there moving to San Diego where she met her husband, Al. The family moved to Brawley, California, after his discharge from the Navy, to raise their five children and where she worked in a couple of medical facilities and was the PTA President at Oakley Elementary school, she was loved by all whoever met her.

The family moved to Ogden, Utah in 1973. She worked for St. Benedict’s Hospital, where she retired from with 29 years of service. She made many friends while working there; two very special ones, who were still best of friends at the time of her passing.

Linda is survived by her husband, Al Sandman; their children: Tony Sandman, Derrick (Laurie) Sandman, Chris Housley, Sarah (Robert) Huberty and Jon (Carmen) Sandman; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Smelser and Sue Rivas-Arellano; a sister-in-law, Maria Toponce; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents,Antonio and Doris Rivas; her in-laws, Harry and Maria Sandman; son-in-law, Lynn Housley; brother-in-law, John Smelser; and brother-in-law, Viron Toponce.

We would like to thank the staff who took care of Linda on the 3rd floor of McKay Dee Hospital and Comfort Worx Hospice care for keeping Linda in a peaceful transition.
