Lois Held Lake died July 10, 2011, at Washington Terrace Nursing home, peacefully in her sleep.
Lois was born July 14, 1927 in Waterloo, Montana to Emma Wing and Louis A. Held. Lois was married to Thomas Leonard Lake June 7, 1944 in Warland Montana. They moved to Ely, Nevada, in February 1960 and McGill, Nevada in 1961. Lois worked for Goodman Tidball in McGill for four years, and then went to work for Hyland Motors. Lois was very active in the Eastern Star. She had served as a Grand Officer in 1994. She was a member of the Elks Club. She was also was an active member in McGill Methodist Church and United Methodist Woman's. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, anything with crafts, reading, painting, playing the organ, camping, fishing, shooting (she was known for out shooting the guys). She taught Hunters Safety in White Pine County. She loved animals. Survivors: Kenneth L. and Edith Lake, Coleville, Washington, Kevin D. and Cindy Lake, Ogden, UT. Four grandchildren: Leonard, Scott, Melissa, and Angelica. Eight great-grandchildren; Breanna, Trace, Alexis, Riley, Colton, Jadyn, Landon and Logan. Preceded in death by husband Thomas L. Lake and son Leonard L. Lake, brother Raymond Held, sister Verna H. Freeman. Services will be held at a later date in McGill, Nevada.
