Mack Dee Gift

Mack Dee Gift passed away on January 29, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born March 28, l941 to Edna Cheney and Franklin David Gift in Missouri. .
Mack was a sociology professor at West Minister University and Columbia College. After he retired from teaching he was the Director of The Mental Health Association of Utah. He ran many group therapy sessions for men and women on the Wasatch front. He wrote and published poetry and non-fiction.
Mack was an intelligent, caring man. He spent his entire life trying to make this a better society for women and all minorities. He even attempted to change men themselves for the better. He was a fairmenist (a word he created) which paid homage to fairness in all of its many forms.
He is survived by his wife, Janice and son, Brett both of Salt Lake City and one sister, Dexter Cramer of Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Gift and his parents.
Mack wanted to be cremated and have his ashes scattered on the Ute Indian Reservation. There will be a short memorial for Mack to be announced at a later date.
