Maena McBride, 99, passed away December 15, 2014, at Wasatch Care Center. She was
born August 1, 1915, in Henefer, Utah, the first child of Frank and Ada Marshall Taylor.
The family later moved to Ogden and Maena graduated from Ogden High School. Her
marriage to Leland McBride in 1941 was later solemnized in the Latter-day Saint temple.
Maena said her life was family and work in the LDS church, where she held many
leadership and service positions. Maena also shared her musical talent as part of an organ
and piano duet, which performed throughout Utah and in Idaho and Wyoming. She
organized and directed award-winning childrenâs choirs.
She is predeceased by her husband and her daughter, Brandilena Schuler. Her survivors
are a granddaughter, three nieces, a nephew and many loving friends.
Services will be Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at 11 a.m., preceded by a viewing at 10
a.m., in the Ogden LDS Fourth Ward, 2115 Jefferson Ave.
