Manuel Favila, Jr.

February 9, 1959 — November 3, 2024

Together again!

Our beloved father and grandfather, Manuel Favila, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, November 3, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Manuel was born in Eagle Pass, Texas on February 9, 1959, to Manuel Favila, Sr. and Maria Favila. He was the second oldest of seven children. He was raised in Ogden, Utah where he met and married the love of his life, Diana M. Luna on June 18, 1977. Together they were blessed with 4 daughters: Shantel Favila, Charlene Favila, Cecilia Favila, and Athena Favila.

Manuel worked as a detailed specialist at Sierra RV for many years up until his retirement. Early on in life he helped provide for his mother and siblings with determination and dedication.

Manuel proved himself to be a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. He’d never stopped loving his children along with his grandchildren with all his heart.

Manuel had a passion for art and was very good at it. He could draw, paint, and sketch anything you’d ask of him. He loved making drawings for his kids and grandkids. Something that we will honor and cherish forever. His love for Tejano music never died. He had the best of the oldest to the latest greatest and was a great dancer. He loved his Dallas Cowboys, watching boxing, having BBQs, and most importantly being surrounded by his family.

Manuel was a jokester and could fill up a room with smiles and laughter. He accepted everyone for who they were and never judged anyone. Manuel was always a person you can count on and didn’t hesitate to help anyone in need. He was always so generous and kind. His tireless love and dedication were the source of admiration, inspiration and appreciation of the family who loved him tremendously. Manuel was the best role model, mentor, supporter, and teacher anyone could have. He was a hardworking man.

He is now reunited with his best friend, Diana Favila, where they will make a home for their children and grandchildren to later join. Manuel was very faithful and dedicated to his family and friends. His legacy will never be forgotten and will continue to be lived on thru each one of his children. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

He's a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by his four daughters; 14 grandchildren, with one on the way; his sisters: Elva Favila, Blanca Avalos, Yolanda (Felipe) Betancourt; two brothers, Alberto Favila (Sandra) and Hector Favila.

Manuel was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Favila; his mother, Mary Favila; his father, Manuel Favila; and sister, Irene Avalos. We want to give a special thank you to our sister, Shantel, for taking care of our jefito through these last few months of his life.

Our family extends a heartfelt thank you to his hospice nurse for her loving care of her “whatever you say boss” patient that was always so kind and patient with him; Amber ❤︎
