Marie C. Beckstead

God welcomed another angel  Monday, October 24, 2016, when Marie Connette Beckstead, 90, passed away while visiting her son in Vernal, Utah. She was born December 12, 1925 to Charles and Connie Gilpin in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She graduated from Rock Springs High School where she was a cheerleader.

She married Kenneth Beckstead on September 3, 1949 in Green River, Wyoming. Marie worked for IRS in Ogden and served as Daggett County Assessor. After retiring, she was active in the Senior Citizens Centers in Manila, Green River and Rock Springs, and taught AARP 55 Alive for many years in southwest Wyoming and northeast Utah.

She is survived by her son, Ken Beckstead, Vernal, Utah and daughter, Connie Hooper, Farr West, Utah; grandchildren, Todd, Nicole, Glen, Chris and Mike; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  Also, a sister and brother-law, Pat and Ray Rafiti, Longmont, CO;  sister-in-law, Barbara Gilpin, Burns, TN, several nieces and nephews and her dog, Winsor.

She was preceded by her husband, Kenny; parents; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Gilpin; and brother, Donald Gilpin.
